The Directors of the Company collectively have significant experience in the resources and corporate sectors. The Aura exploration team has a record of uranium ore discovery and brings extensive uranium exploration experience on three continents.

Brett Fraser FCPA, F.Fin, B.Bus
Non-Executive Chairman

Brett Fraser qualified as an accountant and has worked in the finance and securities industry for 22 years. For many years he was an analyst working in merchant banking with concentration on mining, designing financial models for equity raising or corporate transactions. He is a former owner and director of media group Redwave Media Limited and has owned and operated businesses across wine, health, finance, media and mining.

Currently the chairman of Drake Resources Limited and a former director of Brainytoys Limited.
He is the former chairman of Securities Institute Education (WA).

Dr Bob Beeson BSc Hons, PhD
Managing Director

Dr Bob Beeson is a professional geologist with over 30 years of global experience in base and precious metal exploration and development. Dr Beeson has a range of experience in leading and managing exploration teams, project identification, valuation
and acquisition, strategy development and maintaining technical and operating standards. He is a director of Drake Resources Limited. He has held senior management positions with Billiton Australia, Acacia Resources, North Limited and New Hampton Goldfields.

Dr Beeson’s specific uranium exploration experience includes:

Led major geochemical exploration programmes for sediment-hosted and magmatic uranium deposits throughout the Republic of South Africa; surveys included stream sediments, groundwater and radiometrics.
Developed advanced partial leach stream sediment methods to give improved anomaly definition.
Specialist geochemist in a multi-national team funded by the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency to explore for uranium in Iran.
Project geologist for uranium exploration programmes in New South Wales and the Northern Territory, including the discovery of uneconomic pegmatite vein mineralisation near Broken Hill for Mobil Energy Minerals.
Carried out a major review and targeting programme of the Alligator Rivers Uranium field for Mobil Energy Minerals.
Consultant geochemist with Robertson Research Australia to exploration programmes through the Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia.

Jay Stephenson MBA, CMA, MAICD
Non-Executive Director and Company Secretary

Jay Stephenson is a qualified accountant and has been involved in manufacturing and business development for 18 years including the past 13 years as director, chief financial officer and company secretary for various listed and unlisted entities in resources, manufacturing, wine, hotels, and property. He is a director of Drake Resources Limited. He has been involved in business acquisitions, mergers, initial public offerings, capital raisings, business restructuring as well managing all areas of finance for companies.

Simon O’Loughlin BA (Acc), Law Society Certificate in Law
Non-Executive Director

Simon O’Loughlin is the founding member of O’Loughlins Lawyers, an Adelaide based medium sized specialist commercial law fi rm. For many years he has practised, both in Sydney and Adelaide, in the corporate and commercial fi elds with, in more recent times, a particular focus on the resources sector. He also holds accounting qualifications. He is a former director of Gowit Limited (now called Agincourt Resources Limited) and is currently a director of Living Cell Technologies Limited, Petratherm Limited, Hindmarsh Resources Limited and WCP Diversified Investments Limited. He has extensive experience and involvement with companies in the small industrial and resources sectors. He has also been involved in the listing and back-door listing of numerous companies on ASX and the Newcastle Stock Exchange. He is a former Chairman of the Taxation Institute of Australia (SA Division) and Save the Children Fund (SA Division).

 

Dave Borton BSc Hons, MSc, DIC
Technical Consultant
Dave Borton has extensive experience in uranium exploration including:

  • Falconbridge of South Africa Ltd in Namibia between 1975 and 1978 that led to the discovery of several uranium deposits.
  • Detected several strong radiometric anomalies in an airborne radiometric surveys and ground over a large part of the Namib Desert.
  • Member of team that discovered the Tumas Calcrete uranium deposit in the Namib Desert.
